RED SILK DANCERS IN CONCERT

Experience the joyous and colorful tradition of Chinese dance. Be captivated as silk fans sway in "Sunflower," fiery ribbons leap in "Red Silk," and metal clashes in "Five Swords." Red Silk Dancers is directed by Margaret Yuen and includes 15 dancers, including professionals and local residents. The Family Matinee will be followed by an interactive workshop, in which children will learn the Chinese Ribbon Dance.

Date: Saturday, MAY 17, 2008

1st Show: 3:00 PM -  FAMILY MATINEE and WORKSHOP
                             -  a 45 minute program followed by a 30 minute dance workshop for children

Ticket Prices for the Family Matinee and Workshop: Adults: $7, Children: $7 

2nd Show: 7:00 PM - Full Concert

Ticket Prices:  Adults: $15, Students: $10, Chidlren 12 and under: Free

The Red Silk Dancers presents a colorful program featuring traditional dances of Silk and Sword. Come enjoy hte classical silk water-sleeves in Chimes and Bells, the fiery Red Silk Dance, the swaying silk fans in Sunflower, and the power of swordplay in Soulmates.  Chinese Ribbon Dance Workshop

Chinese Ribbon Dance Workshop

Come learn the Chinese ribbon dance!  Margaret Yuen, Director of the Red Silk Dancers will demonstarte the dnacxe and show you how to wave a long silk ribbon to create rainbows, dragons and waterfalls.  No previous dance training required and all material will be provided.  Recommended for children 6 to 12.  Preregistration is required.
